Police prioritisation in a changing world: seven challenges
Through this paper we bring together what we learnt about police prioritisation from the Police Foundation’s Police Effectiveness in a Changing World project. The project examined the challenges facing the police service in a changing world and the implications for policing practice in the second decade of the twenty first century.
Drawing on observations from the towns where project was conducted, this paper examines the challenges the police service and Police and Crime Commissioners face when prioritising finite resources at a time of significant change, and the implications for service delivery both locally and nationally. It also raises a number of questions for the police service to consider.
