Alishya Dhir
Researcher
Alishya joined the Police Foundation on a one-year contract in July 2024. Previously she worked at Durham University as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on policing domestic abuse. Alishya has research experience and expertise in the areas of gender-based abuse, racially minoritised women’s experiences, decolonisation and policing. Alishya completed her PhD in 2023 on understanding youth image-based sexual abuse: the role of context and police discretion. She also has an LLM in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice from Birmingham University and a BA(Hons) from the University of Leeds in Criminal Justice and Criminology.
